Younger ‘s race team is back

Adam Younger has announced the re-formation of his successful race team.

Adam Younger Design (AYD) was originally formed in 1989 and has long used competition to develop and prove designs.

Initially this was if boats often built and rigged by the AYD team with Adam Younger driving.

Success came in the form of wins and various levels and European and National Championships -but also in the gathering of data and the various spin offs in improving knowledge that was applied to other designs.

Racing was an important area for Adam and his company during the 1990’s and early 2000’s.

Then racing became more occasional more clients and boat builders were representing AYD boats.

A fresh dawn

AYD R&D team has been set-up to develop and improve all aspects of performance boats and as such covers anything from Hull design to build & materials, mechanicals, crew comfort, electronics, surface finishes – almost any aspect of a modern craft.

The team can be used to develop all areas and promote boats from production to custom craft.

The type of craft they will be using and developing has also expanded so AYD is open to working with any areas of competition craft – but also looking at speed records, distance records, human powered, electric power and sailing craft.

The only real rule and boundary of any work and development is that all hull forms used are from Adam Younger Design.

AYD are preparing a boat for the 2017 3A class World Championships and work is also about to start on development / set-up of a 200hp raceboat for a new owners racing in Bermuda.
