John Moore on 22nd October 2018

Following on from the Powerboat Racing World article, ‘Is the 2018 XCAT season over?’ which was published yesterday, the XCAT Xiamen Grand Prix has now been officially cancelled.

Xiamen in China was due to stage 2 XCAT races next weekend that would have constituted rounds 9 and 10 of the 2018 World Championship, however the local promoter cancelled at the last minute.

The final XCAT date on the official UIM calendar is in Dubai over 29 November – 1 December, the official word from the XCAT organisers:

It remains as planned.

If the 2 race UAE event does go ahead, it will set-up the contest between Championship leaders, Team Abu Dhabi 4’s Shaun Torrente and Faleh Al-Mansoori battling it out against the local heroes, Nadir Bin Hendi and Arif Saif Al-Zafeen in Dubai Police.
