XCAT treble in China

John Moore on 31st October 2019

The 2019 UIM XCAT World Championship could well be decided in Shanghai, China this weekend when 12 teams will be competing in three races in as many days.

Shaun Torrente and Faleh Al Mansoori currently lead the championship after winning the two races held on Italy’s Lake Maggiore back in July.

The Team Abu Dhabi pairing have 70 points, with their nearest rivals, Nadir Bin Hendi and Arif Al Zaffain on 56.

With 105 points up for grabs over the weekend, reliability will be a key factor, with each race slated to be run over a distance of 57.32 NM.

Al Zaffain and Bin Hendi were the quickest in the second official practice today when their boat Dubai police topped the times with a 2.11.181 lap with an average speed of 138.173 kph.
