The RYA, the UK National Governing Body for powerboat racing have today issued on their website the racing dates for the various disciplines of Offshore Racing for the 2017 season.
Headlining the published calendar are the Guernsey Powerboat Association’s (GPA) Class 3 A and B World Championships in September along with the British Powerboat Racing Club’s (BPRC) Cowes Torquay Cowes set for the August Bank Holiday.
The Powerboat P1 series will travel to Greenock in Scotland for the first of their four so far confirmed dates, which also includes venues at Portsmouth, Milford Haven and Scarborough.
Bob McCarthy’s Offshore Circuit Racing series (OCRDA) continues to grow in popularity with new teams joining for 2017, they will be competing with the already healthy fleet for racing in Torquay, Newhaven, West Bay and Plymouth.
At a meeting held in Southampton last Saturday, McCarthy also offered to stage racing for Offshore Classes 3, Z150 and V24 at his 2017 OCRDA venues.
The GPA will not only be hosting international racing at their Guernsey2017 Event, they also have seven events penciled in for their Stanley Gibbons Investment 2017 club racing series, with their May 27th – 28th date to include British National racing.
