Vila Velha de Ródão in Portugal will play host to the UIM F2 World Championship season opener, the race will be held over the weekend of 4-6 September.
This comes as a welcome boost to the F2 drivers and fans as the Latvia and Russia rounds have been cancelled and the European Championship which was set for Mácon in France has been shelved.
The news was relayed to racers today by Pelle Larsson, the UIM F2 World Championship Race Director.
As we reported last month, Lithuania and Abu Dhabi are the likely country hosts for round 2 and 3 of a curtailed 2020 championship.
John raced Offshore UIM Class 3 in the 1980’s & 1990’s.
He served as the Cowes Torquay Cowes Event Director for 4 years, including running the 50 th Anniversary Event in 2010.
He has recently organised 4 British Offshore races under UKOPRA sanction.
