Torrente’s treble for Team Abu Dhabi

Chris Davies on 1st May 2019

Shaun Torrente lead Team Abu Dhabi to a win in the 24 Hours of Rouen which add to his 2018 F1H2O and  XCAT Word Titles.

The Emirati crew managed to keep the lead of the race from the early hours of session 2 until the very end, whereas an unfortunate Team Nollet powered by New Star (2) was forced to retire due to engine issues.

Team Abu Dhabi (35) accomplished an astonishing result of 836 overall laps which enabled them  to become the golden medalist of the 56th edition of the historical 24 hour race.

An ill-fated engine breakdown forced Team Hafa Racing (28) to abandon the competition just 15 minutes before the checkered flag, leaving B.R.T (27) in the second spot and Team Abu Dhabi (36) in third.

An enthusiastic Shaun Torrente revealed:

It’s really awesome for us, it was a great 24 Hours.  The guys did an incredible job and made the boat perfect, our boat was basically flawless, we only brought it in a few times just for maintenance and we never broke or damaged anything really.

We’re extremely blessed and thrilled.
