This weekend SUNUS Ocean Racing will take part in the OCRDA organised Club Racing at Plymouth.
C237 will use this time as a shakedown ready for her refit over the next three weeks, gearing up for a speed record attempt on Lake Coniston later this month.
Joining the team for the weekend is stand in navigator Bligh Julius.
Bligh started his powerboat career back in 2007 racing alongside his father Glenn Julius in Zapcat’s, Glenn raced for many years back in the late 90’s in rib’s. Once he found his feet Bligh went solo and achieved two National Championships and a European title in both Zapcat and ThunderCat Racing, and is currently ranked 3rd in the world in ThunderCat Racing.
Bligh has spent the last 2 years of his powerboat racing for Multispark Racing Products in the ThunderCat series, under the management of Dave Harwood from Steel Developments, the team are under intense training for the upcoming World championship in South Africa.
When not racing Bligh works for Onyx Events creating and delivering bespoke events around the UK and Europe.
Racing on Saturday can be viewed from Plymouth Hoe, with a view of the whole course.
Racing starts at 2.15 and 3.45pm

John raced Offshore UIM Class 3 in the 1980’s & 1990’s.
He served as the Cowes Torquay Cowes Event Director for 4 years, including running the 50 th Anniversary Event in 2010.
He has recently organised 4 British Offshore races under UKOPRA sanction.
