PRW is exceptionally fortunate to receive images taken at events across the World by some very talented snappers who give up their time, position themselves in the most unlikely of spots to capture a certain moment in time.
Photographers are vital to promoting the sport of Powerboat Racing.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our photographers that have made their work available in 2018 for PRW to use on these pages and our Social Media accounts.
Every shot tells a story, and in this article I have shared a few from this year.
Jesper Zander’s shot of an Ocke Mannerfelt hull in full flight (above) is my personal favourite from this year.
Palfrader nails Stark’s wonder lap
Simon Palfrader’s shot of Erik Stark at Evian captured the Swede’s gritty determination as he set the fastest time during the Grand Prix of France, F1H2o BRM Qualifying.
It was surely one of the most exciting pole setting laps ever in F1!
Attrill captures the Beaver Returns in full flight
Malc Attrill covered the UKOPRA Offshore Racing series in Britain and the UIM Class 3D World Championship in Italy.
His snap of father and son team, Brian and Thomas Pelham racing in the Multispark Challenge Trophy gave him the most satisfaction.
Davies at the UIM F2 Tønsberg start
Chris Davies has been photographing Powerboat Racing since 1987, this year in Norway he invited himself into a penthouse apartment to capture the start of the UIM F2 Tønsberg Båtrace and of the thousands of spectators that line the river to view the annual event.
Powell goes for Victory
Mike Powell covered circuit and offshore racing this season, his shot of Victory Team’s Ahmed Al Hameli in London at the F1H2o is his personal favourite.
