John Ryan will attempt to break the Round Ireland powerboat record this Sunday (29th May).
Setting off at 05.00 in Hibernia Racing, with a 4 man crew that will include the existing record holder Philip Fitzgibbon, Sean McNamara and UIM Delegate for Ireland Denis Dillon.
Ryan told me tonight,
The boat is good, the weather is looking in our favour, the problem could be me!
I cracked a rib during testing a week or so back and it’s agony!
I hope a 65 mph average speed should be enough.
The Wayne Kruse designed mono hull that will be used for the record attempt is powered by twin FPT N67 engines.
The motors were developed by Fabio Buzzi and Fiat Powertrain Technologies and have an outstanding record in racing and record attempts.
The time to beat is 18 hours 38 minutes and 50 seconds.
A Tracker Link will be available to monitor Hibernia Racing’s progress.
