Riabko set to Defend His UIM F2 Title

John Moore on 19th July 2019

Edgaras Riabko will have 13 boats to beat this weekend in Zarasai, Lithuania if he is to retain his UIM F2 European title.

The Lithuanian won all 4 heats of the 2018 Championship in Zarasai, at an event that he had organised.

Duarte Benavente took the Silver Medal and Russia’s Konstantin Ustinov rounded off the podium places with Bronze.

Riabko feels that he has sorted out the fuel problem that plagued him in the UIM F2 World Championship season opener held recently in Kaunus.

He took the opportunity of competing in the UIM World Endurance Championships held in Augustów, Poland last weekend:

I feel good.

I was racing in Poland for 4-5 hours, and I had no trouble, so I’m physically well prepared.

We have new propellers for the race and our technical issues are hopefully now solved.

After tomorrow’s Free Practice, Qualifying is due to start at 14:00 (GMT +3), 14 boats will take to the water for Q1, 10 for Q2 and the shoot-out will comprise of 6 boats.
