Arran Scott confirms P1 Superstock entry

Arran Scott from Poole, driving for the Absolute Aqua Powerboat Race team has confirmed he will be competing in the 2016 Powerboat P1 Superstock Championship. Competing in five events across the UK, Scott will be driving his 28ft Panther with the aim of taking the championship title. With the final event based in Bournemouth starting Friday the 3rd of September, Scott hopes his home water advantage will pay off! Last year’s campaign started well for Scott, whilst being sponsored by Allam Marine he put in some stunning performances at the opening event at Scarborough, securing him a second place in the championship and identifying him as one of the favourites. The second event, in a very rough Gosport saw more great driving, winning three out of four races (on the water) that should have given the team a comfortable lead in…

The Italian topped the podium the last time the Series stopped in Dubai – at the end of 2015 – and will be hoping for a similar result when racing gets underway from April 15-16 at Dubai International Marine Club. Amato has teamed up with a new driver in Diego Testa in the Carpisa Yamamay boat and while they finished in fifth spot at the opening round of the season in Fujairah last weekend, they’re aiming higher in Dubai. “After just one day of testing we got the third best time in free practice last weekend, then in the race we gained five positions. This gives us confidence in repeating a good result. We have to work a…

Team Abu Dhabi XCAT crews aim to bounce back quickly from Fujairah set-back

Team Abu Dhabi will leave nothing to chance in a bid to bounce back into contention for success in the 2016 UIM XCAT World Series, when action resumes with this weekend’s Dubai Grand Prix off the coast of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC). Last weekend’s dramatic race in Fujairah was a set back for the two-boat team running out of the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) and the two crews find themselves near the foot of the championship standings at this early stage of the season. The calendar is such this year that there are just eight days between the first two Grand Prix in Fujairah and Dubai and team technicians have been working long hours to ensure that both Team Abu Dhabi 4 and 5 are ready for the first of the practice sessions in Dubai…

The British ThunderCat Racing series has always taken great pride in their mission statement, ‘Racing For Inclusivity’, inspiring all to experience tough competition and great camaraderie. With that in mind, the ever popular P750 discipline welcomes a new all girl team – ‘Galaxy Girls / Ahmad Tea’ for the 2016 season. Lynsay Crellin, whose CV in ThunderCat racing ranks favourably alongside male competitors in this ‘Extreme Sport’, will head up the fledgling outfit as ‘Team Manager’ and ‘Mentor’ to a ‘rookie crew’ that has been selected by former offshore powerboat racer, Sarah Donohue. Sarah, who oversees the Miss Galaxy Universe contest, a fitness show based around performance and functionality, has chosen contestants Jo Foxx and Ria Pandey to race for the team. Both Jo and Ria have gone through the extensive ThunderCat training to enable their 2016 licences, although for…
