Rangoonwala upbeat before Cocoa Beach decision later this month

Cocoa Beach in Florida is scheduled to host the US Offshore racing curtain-raiser over the weekend of August 27-30, however, a decision whether to hold the event will be made by the organisers at the end of this month.

June 28 will determine whether the 2020 APBA Offshore Championship can eventually be shown the green flag in the Sunshine State later this summer.

Barrus secure MOD contract

EP Barrus, the UK distributor for Mercury, Mercury Racing, Mariner and Yanmar, have secured a seven-year contract for the upkeep, update and supply of engines fitted to more than 1100 Ministry of Defence (MOD) boats.

UIM racing calendar due later this week

The 2020 UIM racing calendar is due to be published later this week.

The dates will include racing for circuit, offshore and pleasure navigation, however, the F1H2o, Aquabike and XCAT events will not be included and are expected to be announced in due course by the promoters.

Cowes cancellation confirmed

The Cowes offshore powerboat races have been cancelled today in what could be the cruellest blow to the 2020 powerboat calendar yet.

The event that was set to celebrate the 60th anniversary of offshore racing from Cowes and was scheduled to run over the weekend of August 29-31, was due to feature the classic Cowes Torquay Cowes race, racing for Class 3 boats and historic craft.
