Despite Marit Strømøy’s retirement on lap 23 of the Grand Prix of Sharjah today, the Norwegian driver held on to 37 points to earn her highest overall championship finish, ending the season with a UIM Bronze medal.

Marit was running in the top six before her retirement and was quickest in this mornings’s free practice.

She wrote on social media:

Third in the F1H2O World Championship!

Wow!

I’m super happy and proud of my team, my boat and myself as we finish the best season in my 30 years of racing!

She then continued to thank the whole of her team.
