I reported yesterday on the forthcoming Östhammars GP against Cancer race to be held this weekend.
Pernilla Ingvarsson the Östhammars OOD told me that 90 boats are expected to compete and good money will be raised for Swedish cancer charities.
Marie Sjölander has managed to attract 131 donators for the cause and has plastered their names all over her husband Kjell’s Aero 18′ hull.
Kjell Sjölander told me this afternoon;
We are looking forward to racing with our mono hull Aero 18′ powered by a Yamaha 90.
We have a ‘Classic Offshore’ class here in Sweden.
It’s quite a big class and we are allowed to race with older and smokey engines!
It’s a ‘race for fun’ and raising money at the same time.
Marie has more to do;
I have managed to put 90 names on the boat, I have work to do tonight to put the others on and still find more before Östhammars!
