Chris MacClugage currently lies in third place in the P1 AquaX Lucas Oil World Rankings.
The US rider has already won an incredible 34 world and national titles and will be looking to add the P1 AquaX Bahamas World Championship to his CV next month.
The event will be held in Nassau Paradise Island, Bahamas and is a s a collaborative partnership between P1 AquaX, the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board, Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation and Atlantis, Paradise Island, one of the most renowned resort destinations in the world.
The focus on the Bahamas recently of course has been on the category 5 hurricane, Dorian, which caused death, destruction and has left 14,000 displaced refugees.
MacClugage told us:
We’re here in the build up to the racing in the Bahamas.
It’s a little disheartening because my thoughts are more with the people of the northern Bahamas than the race right now but it’s still going to be a great event November 08-10.
John raced Offshore UIM Class 3 in the 1980’s & 1990’s.
He served as the Cowes Torquay Cowes Event Director for 4 years, including running the 50 th Anniversary Event in 2010.
He has recently organised 4 British Offshore races under UKOPRA sanction.
