Latvia’s Lijcs Wins UIM F4 Season Opener

The 2019 UIM F4 World Championship got underway in Kotka, Finland today with Latvia’s Nikita Lijcs taking the win from Pole Position.

Qualifying

Lijcs and Finland’s Alexander Lindholm both posted a fastest lap of 54.97 in the qualifying shoot-out, however, the Latvian was the quickest of the 2 on their slower laps.

The defending World Champion, Morgan Jernfast was third fastest with a 55.03.

Round 1 – 2019 UIM F4 World Championship

Lijcs, who has also been racing in UIM F2 this season took a fairly straight forward win from the front.

Tuukka Lehtonen, who qualified 4th took the Silver Medal, in front of his fellow countryman Lindholm.

Surprise of the day was Jernfast, who finished in 10th.
