International racing becoming even harder

Having travelled to Italy by plane last weekend, I can assure you that flying isn’t getting any easier!

Testing, onerous paperwork and flight cancellations all add to the misery, and a quarantine period at home after the trip is the icing on the 2021 international travel cake.

In Britain, the government opposition Labour Party are calling for Portugal and every other amber list country to be placed on the ‘red list’, requiring 11 nights of hotel quarantine on return home at a price for a single traveller of £1,750.

It was great seeing old friends in Pavia at the weekend, however, it’s hard to see how I will be able to cover other international events this year with the UK restrictions and far more importantly, how competitors and their teams will be able to deal with this current situation.
