Gordon Cook is offering rides in his David Burgess built and designed 2Seater F1 boats in the UK and Europe this summer.
Cook based in Rochester, Kent has purchased two 2Seater F1 hulls, one which demonstrated at the Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Powerboat Racing Club and another from former F1 World Champion, Jonathan Jones.
I thought that this is the best possible advertising for the sport of circuit racing and the take up so far has been amazing. We have Groupon and other ‘experience day’ marketing companies selling the rides in the boats.
For UK fans of the sport and those that want to experience the thrill and speed of a circuit cat for the first time, Cook will be giving rides at Scotland’s Boat Show on the 14th – 16th October.
The 2Seater F1 will also be present at two UIM F2 races this season, Zarasai, Lithuania on the 27th – 28th of August and Ribadouro, Portugal on the 7th – 9th of October.
My biggest disappointment is that for numerous reasons the 2Seater F1’s will not been seen at UK races this year, which was why I bought the boats initially. That said there appear to be few spectators to sell rides to now.
Over this coming winter I aim to produce two more hulls and I am looking to run at least one in America. I get just as much of a ‘buzz’ from taking people out in the 2Seater F1 as racing. Without exception everyone I have taken out, including other Powerboat racers, absolutely loved the experience.
