F1H2o London press rumours

John Moore on 18th August 2017

Newspapers including the Evening Standard have been reporting that F1H2o will be staging a round of its 2018 UIM World Championship in London next year.

Reports indicated that the race would coincide with London Tech Week 2018 – Europe’s largest festival of technology and innovation.

The Standard quoted Li Haojie, chairman of Tianrong Sports and named his company as the Chinese sports promotional company behind F1H2o, it is in fact Nicolo di San Germano’s Idea Marketing.

Those with a slightly longer memory will remember that Haojie was behind a failed attempt to use Miami as an host venue for the same series.

However after contacting F1H2o, they have told me:

There is nothing official yet and it is a premature rumour at the moment!

It’s clear that with the social media interest generated by the ‘news’, that London would be a very popular venue indeed, let’s hope F1H2o can pull off an event in the capital city.
