Rob Davies and Darren Phillips drove Microlink-Ahmad Tea to victory in Round 11 of the 2016 Microlink ThunderCat Championship held at Catalan Bay in Gibraltar today.
Their Championship competitors, Gary Tolman and Scott Brown in Multispark Racing 61 kept the pressure on throughout the day.
A win in Heat 4 over their rivals gave the team from Poole hope, but the Welsh pairing of Davies and Phillips were relentless and focused in their pursuit of an overall win.
Team Endeavour’s Stuart Croxford and Mark Lloyd took impressive third and fourth places overall with quick and consistent racing.
Whilst new 2016 Champions ‘in the making’ were sparring today, Student Loan’s Josh Broadbent and Sebastian Watts took fifth place overall today and with a steady first season in ThunderCat Racing suggested that this is a warm up for their title onslaught in 2017.
The Event has been supported by Visit Gibraltar, Gibraltar Tourist Board, Gibraltar Port Authority, Clan Fuel and Team Britannia.
