UIM F4 – 3 British teams travel to Finland

This week Ben Jelf and fellow Brits Ben Morse and Sam Whittle travel to Imatra, Finland for the opening round of the 2017 UIM F4 World Championships. Around 20 teams will compete for the first of 3 rounds in the 2017 campaign, the line-up also includes Finland’s Juho-Matti Manninen, the reigning UIM F4 World and European Champion. Jelf commented; The team have put a lot of effort into my World Championship challenge this year. There are top class racers in the fleet including Brit Ben Morse who claimed bronze at the European Championships last year and of course the defending Champion. Jelf grabs victory in Germany

Following two successful British Championship Grand Prix events that see him in a comfortable third place in the 2017 Powerboat GP F4 British Championship sixteen year old Ben Jelf and his team last weekend headed to Traben, Germany for his first international catamaran race on foreign waters. A late decision for the team to travel provided the perfect opportunity for Ben to test his wits against some international competition before the opening round of the UIM World Championship in Finland this month. Making the most of great racing conditions Ben set about getting down to business and during qualifying the youngster managed to secure pole position ahead of rivals from Germany, Slovakia and Lithuania.
