Mad Max Blazes to F4-S victory

Xavier Autard of the Maverick Racing team claimed pole position for the first of the two F4 Trophy races with a best lap of 41.09sec in a session that finished under the yellow flag. Tom Chiappe was 7/100ths of a second behind and Mohammed Al-Mehairbi qualified in fifth place behind Sam Whittle and Max Stilz.

Bronze for Ben Jelf

Ben Jelf competed in the 2017 UIM F4 European Championships in Rendsburg, Germany last weekend. Ben and the Jelf Racing team made the 600 mile journey to compete against some of the World’s top racers in the bid to become European champion. 32 teams made the journey to compete for the European crown meaning that qualifying would see each competitor with just two laps of the course to determine which boats would make the cut to battle for the crown. With water approvals set for 15 boats the fastest 11 boats would automatically qualify for the main race with the remaining boats then battling it out in a race for the final 4 places on the grid. Finland vs Latvia in F4 World Championship Finale !

This weekend (19/20 August) sees the final 2 rounds of the 2017 UIM F4 World Championship take place in the picturesque location of Kupiskis, Lithuania which will also feature the F2 European Championship as an added bonus for race fans. The organisers are ready to welcome the top teams from 8 nations that will be attending the event who are all hoping to give their strongest performances of the season and secure as many points as they can for their final placings in the overall standings. As championships go, it doesn’t get much closer than the current F4 World Championship points table heading into this weekend’s grand finale following an exciting 2017 so far with many highs and some lows experienced by the competitors. UIM F4 – Latvia’s Nikita Lijcs closes the gap on championship leader

Last weekend 20 of UIM F4 pilots travelled to Stewartby, Bedford for rounds 3 and 4 of the UIM F4 World Championship. Competitors from Britain, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland and Sweden made the journey looking to stop Finland’s Juno-Matti Manninen from his second consecutive World Championship title. The Finnish racer had taken an early lead on home water in June with a 2nd and first at the opening two rounds of the championship leaving him in a strong position heading to the British Grand Prix on a course where he’d dominated to secure the European crown in 2016. Colin Jelf – Update

The Jelf Racing Team have issued the following statement; Colin Jelf remains on oxygen and is still being monitored regularly in ICU, but he is talking well and looking better. He is in reasonably good spirits, comfortable, receiving the best possible care, and is expected to make a full recovery. Once again, Jelf Racing would like to thank all the officials and especially the rescue teams and emergency services that helped Colin in his time of need. They continue to be moved by the messages of support and offers assistance that have come in abundance.
