Victory 3 draws First Blood – UIM Class 1

First blood in this year’s three-race UIM World Class 1 Powerboat Championship fell to Victory 3’s Arif Saif Al-Zafeen and Nadir Bin Hendi, after Tuesday’s opening Grand Prix laid on by the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) off the Abu Dhabi Breakwater. Victory 3 takes UIM Class 1 pole

Victory 3 snatched pole position from Team Abu Dhabi 6 by the narrowest of margins in another gripping pole position session on Tuesday morning. Team Abu Dhabi 5 and Relekta qualified in third and fourth, with Aquasport yet to take to the water. Pole Position – Race 1 Victory 3 was first on to the water for the one-hour of qualifying and the Dubai crew opened their account with a lap of 2min 48.155sec before returning to the pontoon. Action got underway in the 2016 UIM World Class 1 Championship at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater on Monday afternoon with the first official practice session on the demanding course laid on by the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC). Team Abu Dhabi looking to defend UIM Class 1 World Championship title with two-boat team

Without an official promoter in place this year, the UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship has been placed on the back-burner, but the Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC) has stepped into the fray to keep the prestigious racing series out of the wilderness and the club will host a three-race, four-day UIM World Championship this week (November 21-25) off the Abu Dhabi Breakwater. 2016 UIM Class 1 World Championship set for the UAE

Yesterday the UIM announced that; A meeting took place between Raffaele Chiulli, UIM President and H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE Head of State and Chairman Of Abu Dhabi International Marine Sports Club (ADIMSC), at the end of which the contract for staging the 2016 UIM Class 1 World Championship in Abu Dhabi on 23rd -25th November was signed.
