Trans Atlantic ThunderCat Racing in South Africa not for the faint hearted

The 22nd year running of the famous TRANS ATLANTIC in South Africa, was sure one of the most gruelling and challenging they have ever encountered, with winds over 50 knots and sea conditions 2 to 3 meter swells and like a washing machine off the West Coast. Veteran racer Dwayne Schrader said it was absolutely horrendous and the worst he has ever raced in and certainly not for the faint hearted but the organizers certainly had the work cut out with almost a third of the fleet withdrawing or breaking down. The fastest class being the modified were beaten by the Stock and Pro Stock boats with the first modified finishing 6th overall and that being the veteran Barry Marx.
