2016 UIM Class 3A World Champion Jack Bobin will be heading to Lake Coniston next week with one aim.
‘I hold the British National Class 3A speed record which I set with a Mercury 115 pro XS 2-Stroke last year’.
‘This year I want to improve that speed with my new Mercury FourStroke engine which powered me to a World Championship win in Norway’.
Bobin’s British record at 71.1 mph is still short of the World Record set by Martin Lostrom.
The Swede set 73.47 mph in 2012.
‘I am confident that with the added power and lighter engine that the Mercury FourStroke 115 pro XS gives me, that I can not only break my National record but set a new World Record’.
Bobin with co-driver Barry Culver will power their Phantom 19 G down Lake Coniston on Wednesday (2nd October) morning.
Culver commented on the forthcoming record run, ‘I have been racing for many years, this package is very special, Jack is a great driver, John Guille has designed an amazing hull and the Mercury FourStroke is phenomenal’.
