Antony Del Pin in Fatal Motorbike Accident

John Moore on 18th March 2019

UIM F1H2o and F2 Team Abu Dhabi engineer, Antony Del Pin, has been killed in a motorbike accident.

The 25-year-old from Udine in Italy had enjoyed success with the F1H2o Abu Dhabi Team during their back to back World Championship wins taken by Alex Carella and Shaun Torrente and was looking forward to traveling to Saudi Arabia for the start of the new season next week.

Antony was the radioman for his brother David when he made his F1H2o debut for Abu Dhabi in 2015.

When David left the team to race in UIM F2, Antony stayed on to engineer for Alex Carella, Shaun Torrente and Rashed Al Qemzi.

Torrente posted on his social media channels:

Life is not fair.

The last person I would see before entering battle, and the first when I would return.

Our entire team is devastated by this sudden loss, we love you and will miss you everyday.

One day we will meet again.

2017 UIM F2 World Champion Al Qemzi posted on his Facebook earlier today:

What to say today we were together a passion that made us meet and it was always a pleasure to see you again.

You were a special person to me I always love you as a brother Antony Pinetto Del Pin.

On behalf of everyone at Powerboat Racing World, may I extend our condelences to the Del Pin family, his partner, colleagues and friends.
