Al-Qemzi reinstated

Chris Davies on 15th December 2017

Team Abu Dhabi’s Thani Al-Qemzi was reinstated in third position after the team’s protest against a jump start in the 18th Grand Prix of Sharjah was upheld.

The Emirati had finished the race in third position before race officials imposed a one-lap penalty for the alleged start pontoon infringement. Team Abu Dhabi management protested the decision and the penalty was overturned, moving Al-Qemzi back to third at the expense of Philippe Chiappe.
