Bob McCarthy, Chairman of the Offshore Circuit Racing Drivers Association (OCRDA), has mustered an impressive 20 strong entry for the first round of the Aqua Adrenaline Tour to be held at Torquay this weekend.
The fleet comprises of 2 classes, Stock (up to 150 hp) and Pro (up to 200 hp).
The boats will enjoy 4 heats of racing, 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday.
The racers range from newcomers in which McCarthy’s OCRDA have race trained to 2014 UIM 3B World Champion, Jeremy Gibson and 2015 UIM 3A Silver Medalist Jack Bobin.
I popped into Torquay today to speak to McCarthy and asked him how he had managed to attract such a healthy fleet,
We have worked very hard in training new racers and have leant a hand to some raceboat owners with equipment and other advice.
The weather looks great for the weekend and we would love to see plenty of people come down to Haldon Pier to watch the racing.

The racing starts from 12.00 on both Saturday and Sunday.
John raced Offshore UIM Class 3 in the 1980’s & 1990’s.
He served as the Cowes Torquay Cowes Event Director for 4 years, including running the 50 th Anniversary Event in 2010.
He has recently organised 4 British Offshore races under UKOPRA sanction.
