Sundsdal pulls out of Brodenbach F2 race

While celebrating Norwegian Constitution Day with his EDH Racing team, Frode Sundsdal made an announcement that he will not be competing at this weekend’s International ADAC Motorbootrennen in Brodenbach, Germany. It’s my decision the boat is ready and feels great, however I want the entire team including my race truck and trailer to be ready, so we will focus on all the details, and the first round of the UIM F2 World Championship in Lithuania. Sundsdal has been working extensively with new engineer, David McCormick from Missouri over the winter period and are clearly leaving nothing to chance for their 2017 UIM F2 World Championship challenge.

Brodenbach UIM F2 preview

With the start of the 2017 UIM F2 World Championship season just four weeks away, several of the teams are now running through their final preparations and next weekend twelve of those teams will be competing at the International ADAC Motorbootrennen in Brodenbach, Germany as a ‘dress-rehearsal’ before heading to the World Championship’s opening round in Kaunas for the Lithuanian F2 Grand Prix. Amongst those competing on their home soil will be four German drivers, Simone Schuft, Nick Bisterfeld, Stefan Hagin and Manuel Saueressig. Just last week Schuft was in the UK testing the Gordon Cook Racing prepared Moore hull which she quickly became accustomed to. I love it, it’s been a very productive couple of days and considering everything was so new to me I can now go into my first race with some confidence. Having also recently signed…

Its sponsored team will compete in the four-venue P1 race series from June to September 2017. P1 managing director Robert Wicks explained; With our USA headquarters being in Florida and having previously partnered successfully with Experience Kissimmee at our St. Cloud race event as well as on a promotional campaign in the UK, we were delighted last year to take the relationship to another level with Experience Kissimmee becoming a boat sponsor in our UK national championship. This new agreement for 2017 makes strategic sense for both of us, with Experience Kissimmee having access to the racing team across…

Colin Jelf back to his very best in Carr Mill

Colin Jelf has won the UIM F2 World Championship on 3 occasions in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Since then, he has mainly concentrated on racing in Britain and nurturing his son Ben through the ranks of GT15, GT30 and this year F4. For those that watched Jelf Snr on any of the Facebook Live links from the Lancashire GP last weekend may have noticed a ‘Master Class’ of qualification and racing. With the form and boat set-up Jelf has right now, it surely should be a must that he joins his brother Owen and fellow Brit Matt Palfreyman for a crack at the 2017 UIM F2 World Championship?

24 Heures motonautiques de Rouen – Chiappe’s Cinque

There is no let up in Philippe Chiappe’s World title pursuit, 8 days ago in Portimao he won the first round of the 2017 UIM F1H2o Championship and is already favourite to regain the crown for a fourth consecutive year. In France today with Team Nollet he won Class S1 honours and the 24 Heures motonautiques de Rouen overall for the fifth time. The Franco Italian outfit, Team Privilege – Tullio Abbate (below), took the Class S2 overall win and second overall. Their consistency and speed throughout the demanding 24 hour race saw off rival teams with bigger budgets and perhaps bigger names in the cockpit, they finished an impressive 29 laps shy of the overall winner. A full report of the 24 Heures motonautiques de Rouen with Chris Davies’ photographs, a guest article by New Star driver Shaun Torrente will be in Issue #2 of…

Team Nollet hold commanding lead after Day 1

Philippe Chiappe’s Team Nollet held a commanding lead of the 2017 24 Heures motonautiques de Rouen as the night racing session ended late on Sunday night. Chiappe is attempting to win the race for the fifth time in a row and is looking odds on, Team Nollet have a 19 lap cushion on nearest rival VSI Racing in the S1 Class. Team Privilege head the S2 Class as their main challengers all had issues. After eighty six laps, Team Abu Dhabi #36 driven by their UIM F2 reserve driver Rashed Al Remeithi was caught out by the spray coming from two boats just ahead of him. The young UAE driver was unhurt in the blow over, but the left sponson was completely destroyed in the impact. There was more woe for Team Abu Dhabi when at approx 19.00 CET their #35 boat barrel rolled with Alex Carella driving.…
