New Victory VTX 32 sport catamaran will be at Key West

One of the highlights of this week’s Super Boat International Key West World Powerboating Championships is the unveiling and display of the all-new Victory VTX 32 sport catamaran.

Victory Team unveiled the Victory VTX 32 sport catamaran at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show that concluded yesterday.

Built by the Dubai-based outfit, the 32-footer – the first offering in an Ocke Mannerfelt-designed sport cat line that will include a 27ft and a 34ft – is powered by twin Mercury Racing Verado 400R outboard engines.

Silverline Tools

This is the first Victory Team-built sport catamaran to debut in the United States, the Carbon Fiber and epoxy-constructed boat weighs 2.35 tonnes and like the other sport catamarans in the series, it will also be offered with a less-expensive E-glass and epoxy lamination schedule in the future.

During this week’s SBI event, the new vessel may be used as a paceboat and for demo rides for spectators and fans at Key West.

Victory Team representative Ricky Maldonado explained:

Powertech Marine

This boat is unbelievable!

The handling and acceleration are incredible, it’s like driving a car.

It jumps on plane as soon as you touch the throttle and it doesn’t porpoise or lean hard, it just goes straight like an arrow.

It’s super quiet in the cockpit.

You can be running 90 mph and all five people can talk to and hear each other.

The new hulls could compete in the XCAT World Championship

Maldonado further disclosed that all three Mannerfelt hulls were designed for XCAT competition, the next model to be introduced will be the 34-footer, followed by the 27-foot version.

The 27-foot Victory cat will be equipped with the new Mercury Racing 300R engines and they would be expected to touch 120 mph.

As of now, the plan would be to build the boats at the Victory Team facility in Jebel Ali and ship them across to the United States.

The team are also in discussions with several prospective distributors who would operate on behalf of Victory in North America.
