Dolphins stop P1 SuperStock touchdown

John Moore on 22nd April 2018

The Miami Dolphins normally play at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens but yesterday they decided to practise on the other side of the city at the famous Marine Stadium, forcing the cancellation of SuperStock racing on the opening day of the P1 Grand Prix of the Sea.

After waiting more than a quarter of a century for marine motorsport to return to the famous Stadium I guess we can wait one more day.

The bottlenose dolphins were joined on the race course by some other local residents, including sea turtles and manatees, and this restricted the SuperStock teams to limited training runs.

Everyone is hoping that the dolphins head back to their home ground today and that the threatened storm doesn’t arrive in Florida until tomorrow.
