IPRC Falmouth to the Isles of Scilly

The International Powerboat Racing Club (IPRC) will be running a Falmouth to the Isles of Scilly Marathon race on the 29th July.

The organisers are bullish about their newly formed club and forthcoming event, IPRC Co-Chairman Paul Mitchell said;

It has taken us almost two years to get the right plans and the best people in place and we are delighted with the support of the community.

Co-Chairman Eugene Bari expanded;

The key to making this work is the enthusiasm of the competitors.
Hopefully the many hours of individual conversations have developed trust between us.
When we say something is possible that is because we know we can deliver.
We know many people are disillusioned and have lost faith in the sport but the IPRC has been set up to try and bring some of that ‘Can do’ spirit back.

He continued;

The officials have been appointed, the insurances are ready, the harbourmaster is in agreement, berthing and fuel are arranged, hotels are offering discounts and we have enough entries to make this a really
exciting weekend.
We even have a fireworks display and a 120 ft yacht to help promote the event.

Mitchell concluded;

It is a simple equation.
We want to be an integral part of offshore racing.
We aren’t doing this for money.
We are doing this because we love the sport.
